Pilgrim walks in Hesse

This pilgrimage trail connects the former Cistercian monasteries of Loccum in Lower Saxony and Volkenroda in Thuringia over a distance of almost 260 km. Through a varied natural landscape, the trail passes numerous monasteries and ruins.

The Way of St. James Marburg-Cologne takes us from the burial church of St. Elisabeth in Marburg through western Hesse, the Siegerland and the Bergisch Land to the cathedral city of Cologne.

The pilgrimage route takes us over 185 km along the route of St. Boniface's funeral procession from Mainz to St. Boniface's Cathedral in Fulda. Along the way, we cross the varied landscapes of the Rheingau, the Wetterau, the Vogelsberg and the Fuldaer Land.

The Rüdesheim Hildegard Way The pilgrimage church of Eibingen and the Abbey of St. Hildegard are the highlights on the 6.7-kilometre circular trail that leads through the vineyards of Rüdesheim am Rhein.
