Tyrol's ski resort scores with its size

A lot of Austria’s big ski resorts are in Tyrol. With approximately 284 km of slopes the Kaiser-Brixental is unchallenged in its size and therefore is Austria’s biggest ski resort; closely followed by Silvretta Arena (238 km), Ischgl-Samnaun as well as Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. Easy, moderate or difficult downhills guarantee plenty of fun.

White slopes guarantee a great deal of fun

When it comes to the certainty of snow, the province of Tyrol is the right place to be. A ski resort is only declared as “schneesicher” (high guarantee of snow) if is operated for at least 100 days a year and guarantees not less than 30 cm of snow.

The Hinterluxer glacier is the one of the few ski resorts in Austria that is open all year long and its white slopes are prepared 365 days a year. The Stubaier glacier, Austria’s biggest glacier ski resort, is accessible with skis from October to June.

Slope diversity in Pitztal, Ötztal and Kaunertal

Next to Tyrol other popular ski resort destinations in Austria include Pitztal, Ötztal and Kaunertal. The Pitztaler Mountains impress with a big and diverse downhill offer as well as an ideal slope infrastructure of the three ski resorts Pitztaler glacier, Hochzeiger and Rifflsee.

The Kaunertaler glacier is perfect for people who enjoy skiing on glaciers. It is surrounded by more than thirty three-thousanders that invite passionate winter athletes to ski downhill and impress with a breathtaking mountain backdrop.

Sölden in Otztal is not only an ideal winter sport destination for experienced skiers, but offers plenty of slopes for all degrees of difficulty – including beginners and amateurs – on very good slope conditions.
