Habichtswaldsteig
The Hessian Habichtswaldsteig is a premium hiking trail that is about 90 km long and takes hikers from Zierenberg to Lake Edersee in four daily stages.
On the Habichtswaldsteig trail, you travel through a varied natural landscape: forests and meadows, hills and valleys, bizarre rock formations and juniper heaths. The landscape is interspersed with castle ruins and pretty half-timbered villages, and on mountain peaks or along forest edges there is often a breathtaking view of the picturesque surroundings from lookout towers. Just like the goshawk, the symbol of the premium trail, the hiker glides through the wonderful landscape, from castle to castle, from forest to forest, from vista to vista, diving deeper and deeper into the Habichtswald Nature Park. In addition to the main trail, there are also extra tours for half a day or a whole day, which are ideal for a detour and pleasantly extend the stay in the Habichtswald.
